Compared to the typical 12mm or 14mm diaphragm size found in other planar driver IEMs, the Aethers 15mm driver produces greater output at lower distortions, significantly improving the audio quality.

The bass is focused with sub-woofer-like slam and a mild mid-bass to mids transition to give a slight warmth to the body of the sound. The core midrange from 300 to 800Hz is flat to give a monitor-like accuracy to instruments and vocals. The treble was painstakingly tuned to carefully match the tonal perception of the human ear and give a clear, yet natural upper frequency response.
